Modern is generally as a whole more accepting of different body types, so put that out of your mind. As for the camp, you are used to taking class and learning choreography of different styles. Although you are used to a team atmomsphere, maybe you could use this experience to look inside yourself and learn a little more about what motivates YOU to dance. Remember taking class, memorization, technique, musicality are all skills....this is just another way to hone your skills.

As for the attire, do NOT wear shorts to your ballet class unless you want to offend the teacher, which I'm sure is not your goal. Wear a short ballet skirt if you are feeling self conscious. However, you may want to get used to wearing only tights and a leo.

I would wear nude or black footless tights to modern class. Convertible tights are acceptable. The point of them being "cut off" is so that you are able to dance bare-footed. Here in this class, it may be acceptable for you to wear your hot pant shorts. I always wear yoga type dance pants. If you have any questions, it is appropriate to ask your teacher at the beginning of class what they would prefer for you to wear. And just use your eyes....what is the teacher wearing? What are the assistant teachers wearing?

You will be fine!!!! Most of all, just enjoy this great experience and learn as much as possible. These types of situations are not always meant to create perfection.....just further you down the road to it. I always grow by leaps and bounds when I am in such an intesense, dance saturated atmosphere. Good luck!!!

ok calm down. i have been in ballet camp for the last two weeks. i did take modern yes. buy pink convertible tights. that way they will be both modern and ballet. trust me most people will wear the same thing. no one is going to change their tights to tan or nude. u know i thought they would be really picky too, but the truth is ballet companys arent like that. and it sounds like ur not a pro, which means ur not taking a pro class where u can just wear warm ups. ok and about the skinny thing. i feel kinda fat, but im not. i weigh 110. im not as skinny as those pro ballerinas but half the kids in the class looked like me. a few were fatter. a few skinner. dont worry so much
