They have taken a child's childhood and life away, is there a better punishment for that then death?

I'd like to see child rapists get the punishment they deserve, which would be death. They don't deserve to live after harming a child like that. It's one of the worst crimes that can be committed, in my opinion.
I worry, however, that putting a death penalty on this crime might create a backlash and cause more child deaths instead of just child rapes. If the child rapists knows that they will be put to death if they're convicted, they might just decide to kill the child so that the child will not be able to testify against them. They might feel their chances of getting away with the crime are higher if the body is never found, so they might dispose of the body in such a way that the parents never know what happened to their child.
It's a complicated issue.

The Supreme Court has held that capital punishment for rape would be cruel and unusual punishment, so capital punishment for child molestation could be as well. Just putting them into general population in a maximum security prison would have the same effect. That's what Wisconsin did with Jeffrey Dahmer, who killed and ate several teenage boys before and after having sex with them. He was beaten to death by an inmate already doing life without parole. Didn't cost the state anything in the endless capital punishment appeals, etc.

I think the death penalty is going a bit too far. Yes, they have done irreparable harm to a child, but I think killing them is an overreaction. It might be interestign for you to look into the sex offender's island that they have in either Oregon or Washington. It's basiaclly a self-imposed exile with a secure facility that offers treatment and isolation from temptation. I think that idea shows some promise and has merit, especially if the offenders can be given opportunities to remain productive members of society despite the separation aspect.
Castration is another alternative.

I feel that some should get the death penalty when it deals with murder in some cases also I feel them spending the rest of their lives in prison rotting away and getting tortured by other inmates because it's a fact they hate pedophiles in prison I think that punishment is better verses them just dying never suffering.

The death penalty makes us no better than the criminals....is it a deterrent??? It doesn't appear to be. Child molesters are normally put through hell in prison by the inmates. That may be worse than death in many instances.

It is a hard decision to make becuase by letting them just die they are getting an easy way out. If you leave them in jail then they are getting 3 square meals a day and just wasting tax payers money. In my opinion we should let someone extremely large violate them then cutt off thier tally wacker without any type of pain meds then just let them bleed to death it would be slow and painful exactly what they deserve.

I think that child molesters should be chemically castrated. If a person knew that if they were caught being EVIL it would result in their balls being dipped in a pool of acid, then maybe they would be more hesitant. I don't think they should be killed because chances are they want to die anyway. We shouldn't accommodate the sick desires of these F***ERS.

They are sick ***** and will always be that way. I certainly do not want my tax dollars going towards keeping them locked up or even treatment, so yeah might as well hang these bastards, including the ******* priest molesters out there.

The best thing they can do is give that person to the parents and friends for 5 minutes and what ever happens happens.
