I would have a hard time picking a single favorite book.

Without a doubt, his best material is his Discworld series - the depth and consistency of his characters and his world are phenomenal - I feel like I have a couple dozen friends who live there.

If I had to pick a single novel it would be a toss-up between "Interesting Times", "The Last Continent", and "Night Watch".

I think that "Interesting Times" and "The Last Continent" are among his funniest and cleverest stories. I think that "Night Watch" was his most compelling story.

I consider Terry Pratchett to be an excellent story teller, a keen wit, and the most talented satirst currently writing in the English language. And as Mr. Tulip would say "You can take that to the ____ing bank!"

I easily adore 'extensive Regiment' - I examine it while i exchange into 13 and that i bear in mind guffawing on the circulate-gender nature of maximum jokes, being bowled over, feeling completely sympathy for characters... the record is going on. even with the undeniable fact that, 'Nightwatch' exchange into one in all Pratchett's novels that i actually enjoyed, and nonetheless do, each and each time i re-examine it. superb plot, yet depraved humour in it too. one which will continually be perpetually on the edge of my heart would be 'the dazzling Maurice and his knowledgeable Rodents' - me and my father used to make sure it jointly in the past mattress, each and each doing voices and sharing the examining. Plus, even however that's particularly geared in the direction of the toddler's industry, i've got faith this is nonetheless extraordinarily accessible to adults, as an relaxing speedy examine. Carpe Jugulum... returned, dangerously humourous and an excellent plot like such multiple different Pratchett books. Oh, ok - questioning approximately this now, i can't p.c.. a conventional. I do love all of them. :-) have you ever tried the 'Discworld Noir' game for laptop in the past? Or the 'Discworld - lacking, Presumed ??' they're quite large! :-)

I love them all and collect them, including the Discworld map, Nanny Ogg's cookbook - especially the carrot & oyster pie - carrots so you can see in the dark, and oysters to give you something to look at. trivia quizzes, etc., but my all-time fave has got to be Wyrd Sisters! Some time ago, several of my friends started to call me Nanny Ogg, but wouldn't tell me why. Then one of them suggested I read this book. Apart from smoking a pipe, apparently, I reminded them of Nanny Ogg. I pointed out that I haven't buried several hubbies, either, but they said that the getting drunk, dancing on tables, singing silly songs( The Hedgehog Song, for one) & wearing red boots more than made up for that. Huh!! Anyway, after reading that book, I was hooked, and still am. I'm now halfway through 'Thud' and enjoying every letter. I love the witches, the nightwatch, and the wizards, especially Ridcully. Now look, you've got me started on one of my favourite subjects - I'll stop now or I'll be here all night. Bye!!

The Fifth Elephant, and Night Watch. Sam Vimes is a great character, along with the rest of the gang, and I love the humor in the books.
