look around, investigate the options. the true and proper religion will lead you to right and good relationship with God.
1st the religion should be a benefit to you personally and to society as a whole.
2nd the religion should be welcoming to all comers. Anyone who wants to know God should be able to find Him there.
3rd the religion should peaceable. No faith can be forced on anyone else.
4th the religion should be attractive so that anyone can find good reason to partake.
5th the religion should have clear guidelines and consistent goals and purpose to know God.
6th the religion should be available, offered to others by its participants.
7th there should be good evidence for the existence of the God the religion proclaims.

To answer that you would need to go back to the begining of time and research it. Since that is impossible, the one true religion is the one that makes most sense to you and makes you feel like being a better person.

Christianity is the only one that hasn't been created by human need for religion, or that has been disproven in any way. If fact its got more than enough proof for it. But religion doesn't matter. Jesus is the only way. He is the only one that matters.
