IF I had a laptop I would probably type everything. But I don't have one so I pretty much write everything down on paper. Also, writing on paper makes me feel more inspired and for some reason if I try to type my story or poem or whatever I'm working on at the time, I get tired very easily and I get distracted by the internet and that is why I mostly write everything down on paper. It also soothes me when I write my stories down on paper because it makes me feel like it has more meaning than if I sat at the computer and pressed different keys to create my work.

Generally, when I get ideas, there's never a computer nearby or my laptop is completely turned off. I always keep sharpened pencils or working pens with me as well as some sort of scrap paper so that I can write down any ideas that I have. Generally, I write the ideas on paper first, and once I think I've got the story started off nicely, I'll type it up and finish it on the computer. Of course, I think MUCH faster than I write, but I've developed a handwriting style that's a cross between print and cursive so that I can write very quickly when I need to, which is ideal for writing stories.

I prefer writing with a pen or pencil especially when I write poetry or short stories. Most of my letters I write with a pen and only sometimes I type them out on the computer but that is only occasionally and I'm very short in time.
When I'm writing with a pen or pencil everything flows out more naturally and my ideas, thoughts and feelings run smooth.
Typing slows me down for some strange reason not because I can't type fast enough typing is faster than writing but in some way it seems to block my creativity.

Ever since I got my computer, it's been almost impossible for me to write anything good on paper. All my greatest scripts are typed. I get my thoughts out more easily and I think faster. Plus I type fast too. Writing on paper is old news.

Sometimes on paper, I keep notebooks handy to jot down things or work on ideas while I'm away from the keyboard.More often, and for the real working drafts, I type on the computer. It's easier to see the flow of words, and if anything just looks wrong, and easier to make corrections on the computer.

I like to write. When typing, you have to sit in front of the computer screen, which can be a very boring place. You can bring pen and paper to wherever is an inspirational spot for you.

First I write and rewrite on paper then type it and save it on my computer. I feel the energy flow better when it's on paper first then as I rewrite (so I can read it ..lol) I make corrections as I go..Sometimes the final draft ends up longer than the original one does.

I type when I'm producing. Translating ideas and images into language, then through my fingers onto the keyboard.
I use paper when I'm creating. Pencils, pens, markers of different colors; maps, diagrams, snippets of prose. I do this when I'm thoughtful or feeling pretentious.
The mechanics of writing always fascinate us beginners, but it really doesn't matter. Do what works.

I find the ideas flow better when I use pen and paper. Then I also have an opportunity to self-edit when I input what I've written into the computer.

I do the same as you do.. sometimes I'll write with pencil and paper and then sometimes I need to type.. Both ways I get inspired.
