Yes, it is possible to copy a program and run it from a thumb drive. However, I think Photoshop probably wouldn't work that way. And unless the program is designed to be run from a flash drive, it may damage the thumb drive over time. Good luck!

Yes, if the drive is big enough, use something like nero to make an image and save the image to the flash drive. Then you can install it either by burning it to a CD or mouting it with a virtual drive (Nero;s is called image drive). Alcohol 120% is another program that has a virtual drive. If you are expecting to copy C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop or whatever to a flash drive, portions of it MIGHT work but i seriously doubt that much will, especially with a program as complex as photoshop becuase it probably has files laying around that it uses, are referenced in respect to the drive letter and directory PS was installed in and there are some registry values it would need.

photoshop is way to big and heavy for a flash drive because it takes up alot of memory and resources but i think this is the best way to go is call gimp and you can download it from http://portableapps.com/apps/photos_design/image_editors/portable_gimp and if you want more portable programs that can be run from a usb pen drive here is a site that provides them free of charge http://www.portablefreeware.com

You can copy some programs to disk or flash. When you install them on another machine, if you can download the program, they will install as trial versions.
