Hi, wow I feel for you. That's really tough. I got downsized from my job after 11 years (banking/insurance) and now I work in an auto factory. Let me tell you, the guidelines to get in this factory were MUCH tougher than it ever was to get into the bank, which is a national Canadian financial institution.
I think most factories these days require a high-school diploma.
My suggestion to you is to go through a temporary employment agency to begin with. This is often a good way to get a foot in the door. I don't know if you'll find anything paying $20/hr to start off, but you'll never know if you don't atleast try.
In the meantime I suggest you work on getting that highschool diploma, which will atleast put you on a level playing field.
Much luck!!! :)

I would consider seeking higher education. To earn your GED only takes about 3 months if you are dedicated. It is really difficult to find a job that pays that amount without at least a high school diploma or GED.
I hope it works out for you ;o)

It's getting harder and harder to find good paying factory jobs. Put applications in every factory you will be able to get to and really beef up your resume. List every and any jobs you have ever done and give details. If you are punctual, don't miss time, are loyal, honest, fair, etc., put it all down. Good luck.

Regardless of experience; you might have a hard time finding anything for that amount of money. You may be pricing yourself right out of any job possibilities.

Without an education you must follow or develop your skills. I don't know what your skills are but work to improve them or learn related skills which pay more.
Good Luck,
