I'm a Christian and the Bible tells me I will get to heaven (but not through what I have done or not done).
Anyway, I am not afraid of dying. I had a near miss the other year, though, and thought I was dying alone on my bathroom floor. I felt desperate. Not fear of death, just fear of the process of dying.
There is something in humans that makes them grasp to life with both hands (most of the time)

People fear to die or pass over because they don't know whats beyond. I don't believe in any particular relegion and i'm apprehensive about where i'll end up!! Decided a long time ago to go with the flow and try not to think about it.
Ps I think we're in hell at the moment anyway. So come on HEAVEN!!!

I think the question is why do you fear death? I for one do not fear death, it is inevitable! May be the people who fear death the most are the ones who believe there is a heaven, and what they actualy fear is finding out that there isn't one! lol That would then make their whole life a sham. Like Christian IV has said God is a man made conseption.

As a Christian, I am promised a place in Heaven... and told that this place will be Paradise... That to live is Christ..and to die is gain!!
But to get to this Paradise... I have to die and leave my loved ones behind.
It is not Death that frightens me... it is the process, mode, thought of death... and dieing alone that makes me feel uncomfortable...
The thought of leaving all my family and friends behind: and how my death will affect them!!
And the feeling that there is so much more i want to do for good... to make up for all the bad... before I go home!!

What the human mind does not remember is; "We are FROM HEAVEN. But being born into a man body with a undeveloped man brain and mind, we have forgotten our source and the home we come from. For this reason we fear what we have learned about pain and suffering, and therefore dread death."

I have always wondered that myself even though I'm that way. I want to go to heaven and yet I fear death. I think it is just fear of the unknown. We've never been there and we can't take our things and people with us, so even though its exciting, its scary.

We fear to die because of two reasons:
The pain of dying and what become to us after death
& as the other things we can’t be sure about heaven & about going to heaven
It’s foolish to dye for what we are not sure about (heaven) & also to live because the fear of what we are not sure about (hell)

We are animals that have evolved. we are born with the instinct of self preservation. Our primary biological function is to propagate the species.
The brain has however evolved beyond the basic biological function. Heaven is a concept invented by man. The wish to avoid pain and death has contributed to an idolised sense of immortality possibly secondary to the urge to propagate and preserve one's own DNA

Because some people are not 100% sure about the existence of heaven so they are scared incase death is in fact the end.
