the freezer has water hose that goes to the top of the motor to drain the water in the cycle. the hose can get plugged with mold. after melting all the frost the block of ice will look like a ice cube. Mix some bleach with water and run down the hose about one cup full. If the ice looks like frost the defrost cycle did not melt it. that can happen if the defrost timer did not turn on , if it is in defrost the freezer fan will be off. also there is a heater and thermostat in the freezer to hold the temp down to about 60 f , aether one could be open stoping the heat during defrost cycle.

the refrigerator uses the cold air from the freezer to cool it down. If the freezer is not getting a cold enough air flow in it the fridge part will not get any colder. The freezer will hold the cold and if it is frozen you may have a problem with the coils in the back of the appliance. Also check the seals around the doors to make sure that they are making good contact because as outside air moves in the moisture in the air will freeze and cause ice and frost accumulation which can also mess with the internal thermostat so the freezer will not pump any cold air. If the seal around the door of the fridge is not closing properly then its just letting all the cold air out.
Good luck

the vents sound like they're blocked. thaw the freezer and clean the vents for good air circulation. in addition, pull it away from the wall and vacuum out the back underneath where the compressor is. they have a tendency to gather dirt and dust. it sort of insulates the compressor and makes it run hot. when that happens the fridge runs warm. do that and it should correct the problem.

Here's a stupid question. Are you sure you lowered the freezer setting and not the fridge setting? This does happen.
Try to set both dials at the same number, about half way point, and see if there's a difference.

OK, its very simple, you just need to clean the back of your fridge, probably is clogged with some dust, that's why the freezer is super cold but the rest is warm, try it and I hope this help.

the drain is frozen. the air ducts from the freezer to the refrigerator filled with water after the drain froze solid with water. unplug your refrig and let it thaw for 24 hours. the drain is under the palstic "floor" of the freezer. make sure it is clean by blowing air thru it. this should fix the problem.

Well, it depends on how long you have had the refridgerator. If you've had it for more than 15 years, get a new one, what is happening is normal. If it's brand new, ask the store where you got it to give you a refund.

first defrost the freezer
make sure the vent that goes from the freezer to the fridge is clear and working ok.
is it really old? they do not last forever and new ones use like half the power and will pay for themselves pretty quickly

There might be a dial for both the fridge and the freezer....turn it down. If that doesn't work, it needs to be fixed
