I have a Dell inspiron 1200 and it sucks! I bought it less then a year ago and feel like tossing it out the window every time I use it. I have decided to get a new lap top; I have an old Compaq that a friend gave me that works well for its age, so I'm thinking about going with Compaq.

Any recommendations?

Tell me your experiences...

Sometimes all you need is just more memory for your laptop and that will make it faster. That is the cheap way to upgrade performance.
Other than that go to www.deals2buy.com and look at the dell deals. The laptops are really cheap and have nice specs. This does not sell ...it just has listings of how to get the deals that were submitted by others. Good Luck.

I'll recommend An APPLE Mac. You can run Mac Os as well as Windows on it too. No other system gives you this option. Like all other apple products, It has a very good design(good keyboard also), good colors, And good, easy to use interface softwares.
It runs on an Intel Duo-Core processor, which is the latest technology, so you don't have to upgrade it for next 4 years.

compaq is proprietary and uses non-standard parts. if it stops working you can only get the parts from them at a very high price. radio shack uses compaq

why don't you try toshiba? i'm using one right now... so far, everything is good with it. perhaps you could go to web sites with reviews on hardwares such as laptops, so you could find what's best for you. Have a good laptop hunting. :)
