Is Hearst Castle any fun for a couple of 20 year olds?

I will be visiting hearts castle next weekend with my boyfriend & i want to know if wi'll enjoy it! I heard is boring! Answers!

Think of it as a Neverland Ranch of 3 generations ago with the wild animals and big budget, but without the child sexual abuse and poor taste in architecture.

WRH spent a ton, an unbelievable amount, on creating and furnishing his "castle". Anything Robin Leach showed on that "lives of the rich and famous" show was a poor imitation of the original.

The only thing that surpasses it for grandeur and conspicuous consumption might be the Vanderbilt mansion on the East Coast.

Watch the black and white movie "Citizen Kane" by Orson Welles before you go. It is a thinly veiled biography of WRH.

It is operated by the California State Parks, so the guides are informative and there's no tacky gift shop like at Graceland.

I see you're going to Morro Bay and Hearts' Castle. Consider tours of some of the wineries in that area (if you're over 21). Further north, Ano Nuevo State Park is a spot where elephant seals haul out on the beach. Still further north, the Monterey Bay Aquarium is very good.

If you are into the past and wanting to know what the old Movie Stars thought were sexy and a little wild...you will find much to think about. The tour came with many stories and I found them really neat. I could invision just the way they were, and I could almost see some of the sexy ladies from the 50's lounging about the pool and waiting for their lovers to join them in their rooms. If you can do that.... you will love the Hurst castle.
