Ask someone you trust to open a bank account with you, and account that takes BOTH of you to make withdrawals. Then arrange for part of your paycheck to go into that account every week.

If you have a checking account, open a savings account online with ING Direct. They pay 4.35% interest, which means the more you put in, the more you get back! If you "pay yourself" a little bit every week or every month, then it'll add up quickly (but don't transfer it out of that account....only transfer INTO it!)

Good luck - I hope you have a great trip :)

Buy travelers checks in $25 increments. Maybe one or two a week. And keep them in a box (shoebox will work) with all your vacation information. Each time you put another traveler's check in the box you're reminded what you're doing it for. I've done it in the past and it adds up quickly.

Try to get a CD at your bank that makes you commit to not spending. Try to put away 10% of your paycheck-it adds up fast. Happy Trails.

Try a sock drawer, if that doesn't work, try treating money like it's food stamps. I could always save those better than I could money.
