Because they didn't want to promote an open discourse about the issues, they just wanted to spout out their propaganda.

Your statement is correct, but your conclusion is inaccurate. Town hall meetings are heavily scripted events, under the control of whoever holds them. When Clinton, Gore, and Kerry had their formal events, there wasn't a word of protest to be heard that wasn't discussed beforehand. It's standard political procedure designed to highlight the candidate.
And Republican events have had their share of roude wackos, too. Most notably, Iraq war protestors have frequently disrupted conservative gatherings. Ann Coulter events have recently been disruptive or cancelled due to the bad behaviour of those who would deny her right to speak. Whether or not she is right, or even tasteful, has nothing to do with the issue.
Remember that the game is politics. You mention the lies that Republicans spread, but you need to remember that the objective is to tell people, of any party, what they want to hear. You clearly agree with the Democratic party message, and that's fine. Just understand that the other side thinks it's lies.

No way you can back that up. You weren't at any GOP functions. Besides, the Republican establishment has had a long history of rewarding spots at town hall meetings, fundraisers, etc. to people who have worked hard at the grassroots level on their campaigns. They have capitalized a lot better that way, and is one of the reasons why Bush was re-elected.

That might have happened someplace, but if it did, it was a mistake by a staff member. In almost all cases, anyone can go to the GOP meetings. Usually, the tickets are given out for free at several different locations. No Republican registration is required.

because republicans do not choose to get yelled at with suggestions from their own social gathering members. the acute conservatives, which includes myself, are mad that lots of the newly elected republicans aren't any further upholding their delivers and a 0.5@ss attempt can't decrease it. Republicans also are calling for calm city corridor conferences through shootings on Gifford and others. it variety of feels all politicians were given petrified of the folk after that.

Give the points to Troy S.. his answer was right on the money, because the Repubs are not open to new ideas or intelligent discussion.

The emperor doesn't want to hear he has no clothes. The easiest way to feel morally superior is to ignore dissenting opinions, that way there is no need to question yourself.
