I love the movie, as it is so debatable, you could talk about any of the following topics:
1 The films deeper questions around existentialism (replicant/ not replicant).
2 The ethics which surround artificial intelligence.
3 The truth and the image, or how our own perception can be distorted ( the year in which it set is a metaphor for this - 2019 not quite the perfect 2020).
4 The visual distopia, how the city represents human (or even replicant) emotion.
5 Least i forgot the genius that is Ridley Scott!!!!
Enjoy the movie.

I love Bladerunner, but I wasn't more impressed with the director's cut as I liked the film noir style voice overs even after learning that Harrison Ford did them deliberately badly because neither he nor Ridley Scott wanted them. And I thought the suggestions that Deckard was a replicant added nothing. But the DVD is being re-released in the autumn, hurrah!
I like it because it gives a high tech but pessimistic view of the not so far future, everything is quite grungy, there are flying cars and Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer are cool. And the best scene is the one with the little robots and Darryl Hannah and her raccoon makeup, it is just bizarre.

Oh man! Love bladerunner. But not the director's cut. The D cut removed all Deckard's voice overs...which I liked. You know the ones I mean? Have you seen the 1983 version?
Yea, everything about that movie was too cool. Well cast, a perhaps bleak but accurate view of the future. Full of beautiful textures with the excellent Vangelis for music.
It is possibly my favorite movie of all time.
Was Deckard a replicant?!!!! 6 0f them escaped an off-world colony...one of them got fried running thru an electrical field. Then we meet 4...Priss, Zora, Batty, Leon. Where the heck is the 6th?!

I like this film. Mainly because I fancy the young Harrison Ford (hey, theres my threesome with Ray Liotta circa Goodfellas as well. ha).
One motto that sticks in my mind from the film is 'a star that is twice as bright, burns for half as long'. So true when applied to life, and those who seem to die young.
You can't beat some of the old sci fi movies made in the late 70's to 80's (all the star wars triology, alien, running man, terminator; even flight of the navigator). Have they run out of ideas lately or what? Theres hardly been what you'd call another classic made recently has there.... or you got something modern to recommend?
Still, suppose they had more imagination back then.
Saying that, the first matrix was good....

Like BladeRunner, though I must admit to prefering the original cut, i quiet enjoyed the talk overs. Really enjoy the use of music by Vangelis in the film, one of my favourie soundtracks.
Best Quote is near the end when Roy is dying, the speech starts - 'I've seen things you people wouldn't believe....'.

Bladerunner is pretty cool but not my favorite of all time. I do like Joanna Cassidy alot though. She is the one that went through the window when Harrison Ford shot her.

Terrific stuff. Love the fight scene with Batty and Deckard - it still has my favourite quote:
Batty: [taunting Deckard with a counting rhyme] Six! Seven! Go to Hell or go to Heaven!
Deckard: [Deckard smashes an iron rod against Batty's head] Go to Hell!
Batty: [grabbing the iron rod] That's the spirit.
I loved Edward James Olmos as Gaff. But then again I love Edward James Olmos!
You have inspired me, I am going off to watch my DVD collection for the afternoon...not sure what to watch though...lol.

Reaction time is a factor in this, so please pay attention.
Thought you might like to know that Ridley Scott's FINAL CUT will be coming out next year - in cinemas first (25th anniversary), then in an all-versions DVD box set.
Give me a hard copy right there.
Re: other answers.
It's TEARS IN RAIN, not TEARS IN THE RAIN.
And: The LIGHT that burns twice as bright...
Now - where would we find this J. F. Sebastian?
