i had been bleeding for 11 days b4 i found out i was pregs (first 5 days were regular period). continued bleeding lightly after those 11days, then it got heavier and darker (with some clotting and slight cramping), like it was a regular period again. it stopped 2 days ago. is that a sign of miscarriage? i want to terminate, but wanna be sure so i don't end up paying (no insurance) for a termination when there is no need to.

Sounds like it could be a miscarriage, especially because you bled for an unusually long time, then you had some heavy bleeding accompanied with cramps and lots of blood clots. In early miscarriages, the bleeding looks more like a heavier period - it is fairly common but because it comes out like a period and comes around the time their period is due, most women don't realize that they're having a miscarriage. In such cases, the miscarriage happens on its own and doesn't need a D&C (a procedure to clear out the uterus). Just to be safe and sure, see your doctor so he/she can see if it was indeed a miscarriage and if you need any other medical intervention. Depending on how far along the pregnancy was, it is important to make sure that there are no residual tissues left in the uterus as that could possibly (but not always) pose a potential risk.

By the way, how did you find out you were pregnant?

Goodluck to you and hope all goes well!

Is there a Planned Parenthood near you? Or a free clinic? The same thing happened to me and my OB/GYN advised me to go to the hospital to have the "miscarriage" completed. I chose to wait a week and now I have a healthy beautiful 8 month old daughter. If you do not want to go through with the pregnancy at all, you should still see a doctor before you take any further measures, as something else could be wrong. I would recommend calling a doctor or going to the ER ASAP. Good luck!

You need to call your doctor. If you are having a miscarriage you need to make sure every things going to "come out" okay. Just because your bleeding doesn't mean your body expels of everything correctly. They may need to do a D&C or give you meds to help.

I believe that is a sign if so you need to go to the doctors or hospital right away could cause severe damage however if you are still pregnant I would ask that you reconsider your choice about terminating the pregnancy I know that it is your choice but please think about your unborn child
