Any competitive swimmers out there ... what do you do?

no i don't ever urinate in the pool. i am a competitive swimmer, but when i need to go i just get out and go to the nearest bathroom. during a swim meet i try to go before a heat or match. My coach and teammates would rather have me miss a few minutes of practice than go in the pool. that's just so gross and unsanitary. i can also tell you that NOBODY ELSE DOES THIS ON MY SWIM TEAM OR ON ANY OTHER.

Not only do they pool in the pool, but many swimmers are able to do it while they swim (which makes it especially gross if you have to swim behind them). I for one, do not.

dude. when your coach doesnt let you leave the pool unless practice is done or youre seriously injured, you pee in the pool. it dissolves in 3 seconds anyway, thats what the chlorine is for.

yeah sometimes when the coach is in a bad mood and won't let you go piss. oh and the water changing color thing-- it's a lie... as long as you don't do it near someone cuz they'll feel a patch of warm water and they'll know.

yeah, i do. if i'm practicing i usually do it when i'm at the wall. during meets, i like to pee during warm up. it kind of marks my territory. one time we were swimming against harvard, and i almost got caught with a big yellow fan around me.
