I think it's cowardly, because the hunter is hiding and killing and unsuspecting animal from afar. Now if they were to hunt with their bare hands, that's a different story!

Cowardly acts of cruelty. At one time we needed to hunt to eat. That is no longer the case. And now we have what they call "canned hunting" where the animal is kept in a cage & let loose when someone pays to kill it. It's not hunting it is stupid cruelty.

I love to hunt and I do it for the sport and for the venison. With high powered rifle maybe but still difficult. With primitive weapons such as bow and arrow absolutely not. Fair chase is the key to modern hunting. In many places in the US game such as deer no longer have any natural predators. Without some kind of controlled hunting they will multiply to numbers that will not support the available habitat. If we continue our current course of action through state controlled game and land management, it is a fair and equitable exchange. It guess some people would say that hitting a deer with a car at 65 MPH is better form of death for the animal. Also that the $500 deductible they just payed was worth the price of having too many deer run around.

I do not believe i canned hunts...that is just cruel and what is the challenge in shooting a animal that runs out of a box!!!? i do think however that if you are a responsible hunter it is OK to hunt in areas that allow it because some places have an over population of certain animals...but we wouldn't if we hadn't eradicated all of the predators such as the wolf.

Lighten up! I am not a great fan of hunting, but I do fish. I certainly think it's ok for those that want to, as long as they are not too fanatical (like anything else).
I mean, you know how people got their food before there were supermarkets, don't you?
People enjoy the outdoors and the challenge of it.
It is a minor issue in my mind.

It really depends on the ethics of the hunter. Most hunters eat what they kill and have great respect and love for nature. Hunters try to take their prey down with one shot, and any decent hunter will chase down anything they accidentally wound so it doesn't die slowly.
Unless you are a vegetarian, you can't really criticize anyone for hunting because non-hunting meat-eaters indirectly hire a hitman at the slaughterhouse to do the killing for their meat. It seems to me that if you could never bring yourself to shoot a cow, you should never let someone else shoot it for you so you can eat it.
Of course, I find meat yummy and wont hesitate to shoot, buy, or eat it!

i hunt in season and I espescially like tourist season. That said, i hunt for those who prey on the innocent adult. Its great sport and very challenging because we cannot flush the prey like they do on hunting farms, (jails). Those who see us as cowardly may become our next target because they obviously have weak or low moral standards that allow the preditors to exist and feed. The only way my sport will cease is when everybody learns to 'do unto others as they would have done unto themselves', and thats never going to happen as long as the appologist leads people.

I'm a vegetarian who doesn't see what's so wrong with hunting. While I myself am not a hunter, we're only talking about animals here. I'd much rather that they take it out on animals than on people.
