While some CD players can play computer CDs with mp3 files on them, many can not.

You need to start with music that is in wav format, rather than mp3

Then using a cd burning program like Nero or Roxio create a music CD (not a data cd). This will convert the wav files into a format called cda, which is what CD players use, and burn them to the CD

Hopefully you will be able to play that CD

Switch your burner program to burn in .wav format instead of mp3, .wav is recognized by all cd-players sold commercially.

yes make sure they are .wav when you burn them if you don't have a mp3 player. Also make sure the disc is CLOSED as only rewritables can read discs that are not closed.
