Let's see the Properties of Woolen Fabrics & Uses First:

Woolen Fabrics are made from the Fleeze of the Sheep.

It has the following Properties:
* Hard Wearing & Absorbs moisture
*Doesn't burn over a flame But smoulders instead
* Light Weight & Versatile.
* Doesn't WRINKLE Easily.
*Dirt-Resistant &
* High durability (Wear & Tear)

Uses:
To make Dresses, suits, tweeds, pants, jackets, lining the boots, sweaters & carpets

II. VELOUR: is a Velvet-like Fabric made from natural or synthetic fibres.

* Very Hard Wearing
* Smoother than Velvet
* wind-proof
* Maximum durability

It is used mainly for Home Furnishing, upholstery,, outer wears,

For Dresses, I feel Wool is better but a little too costlier than Velour.

For Home Furnishings & Outer wears, Velour is better than Woolen ones & A lot cheaper too.

So, it depends on one's need & affordability.

Soft lamb's new wool.

My mum used to have this shaggy hearth rug made out of it. I used to love laying on it when I was a kid.

Velour wouldn't have felt the same.
