Customers aren't right, often. We are just told that because some bully management into giving in to them to keep business. Besides, if they aren't appeased, they call Corporate and try to get people fired. What's the point in arguing with an irrational person?

Believe it or not, customers lie and are full of BS all the time. In many cases they make unreasonable requests that cannot be corrected in the bests interests of the company. Unless it is a reasonable warranty / damage issue, no compromise should be made unless it can be tied into guaranteed future business.

All the time!

For instance- a customer came up to me and wanted to know the price of a transit ticket to Toronto, I tell him, he says that's wrong, I tell him that's right... and this goes on until I say he doesn't have to buy his ticket from me if he doesn't think it's the right price.

Yes. It's usually when they try to take advantage to that saying "The customer is always right" that is BS.

Yeah! when they are belligerent and ignorant... But you still have to be nice for minimum wage. Some people are just tools!
From sheer experience, usually, the more money they have, the worse they are to the sales help and the more they expect for their shi*tty attitude and demanding demeanor.. Makes it hard sometimes... Thank Gawd they leave eventually!
