Vague questions share some similarities to the disturbing and confusing scientific theories of chaos theory and quantum mechanics. "Vagueness" may remind people of a break-down of mental clarity and order (which in turn is linked to the underlying chaos of reality). In relation to quantum mechanics, maybe no one likes to consider the possibility of multiple "right " answers, or that perhaps a vague question might not even have an answer... like if you ask a question and no one's around to answer it, does it really exist?

I hate these questions.
What do you mean ? How the heck am I supposed to answer this ?
I have no idea at all what you're meaning is here. Please post details and maybe when I calm down a bit, I'll check back and see if I can help you. I have no idea what you're talking about here.
Gawd, these questions hack me off.

Some people need clear boundaries in order to feel secure. I think also, the underlying need in most people to be "right" makes it difficult for them to risk misinterpreting the less defined questions in case their answer is seen as stupid or silly.
Just a thought.

Because they are quick minded and don't take the time to process the information, they see one word and go on that. These people are usually morons. I'm not one of them by the way.

I don't know, but it is very funny to read when someone has given a genuinely freaked out to a question that they voluntarily answered. If its that scary for them, you think they would move on into Pets or something!

The seem to be hard to answer at first glance but I find I like to just pretend I have to come up with something and I usually have more fun with them.
