I call mine Stevenson because it's an i-pod nano and he looks dignified, and smooth, and purrs a little if you shake it (people in Mac should be reading this) like my now dead cat Stevenson.

I call mine "Stupid" because it has a weird glitch. A friend of mine calls his "Mabel" (I don't know why). A lot of people name their device after someone that they like. Good luck!
