"Bollywood" refers to the Indian movie industry, based in Bombay (Bombay+Hollywood = Bollywood). The Indians are crazy about movies, and produce more films than any other country in the world, including the US. More and more Indian directors are getting noteriety in the States - M. Night Shyamalan (although he's actually Indian by heritage and American by birth), and Gurinder Chadha, who directed the wonderful "Bend It Like Beckham," which everyone must see. I'm not even a soccer (football in the UK) fan, but I loved this wonderful, fun, funny little movie. And I guess it's not really all about soccer/football, anyway, but more about an Indian girl trying to make her way through modern English society. Very fun, and good introduction to Indian films.

India's version of Hollywood. You should check some of it out, it's pretty fun stuff to watch and likely to be much better than the drivel America Hollywood has been releasing.
