I have not eaten properly for over a year and I've suffered sever hairloss. I've started eating properly again according to my nutritionist and the food pyramid but I'm still sadly watching my hair fall out and I'm wondering how long it will take for it to grow back? My nutritionist told me it would take some time but I'm wondering just how long exactly and is there anything in the meantime I can do to keep my hair from continuously falling out!PLEASE HELP!

I'm no professional but sweetie i understand your worry, i experienced something similar but stress was also involved which may be your case as well. your nutritionist is right it does take time and because of your diet for that period of a year i would give your hair a good 6-8 months to recuperate, but you can help it along. i am very self conscious about my hair like any woman so i go to great lengths to keep it healthy,i am going to recommend some things that you can do for your hair that won't cost you a bundle OK, so here goes....; v05 hot oil 2 times a month, infusiam leave in conditioner after washing, john Freida shampoo and conditioner great for split ends and healthy roots, also once a week you may want to wash your hair then apply the conditioner wrap your hair in a towel and use a blow drier to produce heat and leave it on for about 20 minutes then rinse clean and put on your leave in conditioner. apply your conditioner mainly to the ends because your roots create a natural oil and you should avoid washing your hair every day let it build up its natural oil i would wash every other day. you will continue to loose hair even after its healthy because that's the cycle of your hair but i hope that this will help you out. all of the products i mentioned can be found at wal-mart...good luck sweetie

Seek professional medical attention. This is something that your body has to get some getting used to . Its going to take a long time for your body to function normaly again . Time is your answer. Time will tell .You should've taken better care of your health.

Sorry to hear your eating disorder, but since you can eat again,it would probably take a while. It depends how long you want it.if you want if to be up to your shoulders, then it would take a month or so,but a long hair would take a year.but dont look it as a down side,be happy that you can eat again. And dont worry about your hairloss.it would grow back to normal.
