The isp provider will send you an external modem in the mail when you sign up for the service. Just follow the instructions. It's very easy to do.

Ha, I work for ATT Yahoo dsl tech support. You can call the provider and they usually send you a free dsl modem or w/ a rebate. You also have to make sure that your computer has an ethernet card. Also you usually have to have dsl filters on any device that plugs into your phone line....phones, fax, answering machine, satellite receiver. But these filters usually come in a kit along w/ the dsl modem. So the only thing you need to do is make sure your computer has the ethernet card.

Many places offer a deal where you sign up for a year and they will give you the modem you need for free. Generally what you need is an ethernet port on your computer, that's it, or you can use a wireless device.
The cost can vary, from around $10 with a 1-2 year contract, to up to $100 a month for people who need to send a lot of information and quickly. Many places have rates between $15 and $25 per month for a good basic service, and maybe a year contract.

ISP's usually provide the modems for DSL or ASDL... So you do not really need anything... As far as the average price, maybe around $20 a month..

It ranges from 15 - 50 bucks a month.
