my hometown has a "miller's church road" and there was a church burnt down on the road at a really sharp turn. there's a little memorial plaque there now, and supposedly satan worshippers use the area for satanic rituals and the farmer down the road reports cows missing every so often.
also, supposedly, if you travel by the plaque at midnight a black hearse will follow you and try to run you off the road. i have friends who claim to have seen the hearse, but i think it's a bunch of hoo-ha.
we also have a place called spook hill. if you park your car at the bottom of the hill then ghosts will push the car up the hill. thing is, then hill isn't really a hill. the car is actually rolling down, but the way the earth is laid out, it seems like you are going up the hill.
yeah, i think every town has stuff like that.
what a fun question!

Virginia Beach, Va. Shore Drive headed towards The Oceanfront. A curving wooded stretch of road that gets impossibly dark after nightfall. Many a young jackass will go Ghost Riding (No Lights) or Late Night Racing. Many crosses at that sight. Many lives lost because total Jackassery.

We have way too many of them. One that I do know has a cemetery on the curve. Then after all those deaths, thats when the city decided to make the curve safer. And we have too many crosses on all the other dangerous curves.
May all rest in peace!

It's not called "Dead Man's Curve" it's called "Curt's Curb" after the guy who died there. And that's not the only one around my old town - there's another, without a name, where a teenage girl died a few years ago.

Yes it's called Shore Drive ,(Va Beach Va) It's so bad it has a sign that says x (i don't know the current stat.) number of people have died on this road since 1977 and the sign has changeable numbers. I know of two this year, and I don't even watch the local news.

Pretty close.
We have one, but it is a narrow road that passes under an railroad overcrossing and people misjudge the road all the time.
Some pretty spectacular pile-ups, let me tell you.
