Yes. And unfortunately it seems to be in the negative qualities. My mom used to say that when my dad got very angry, he was just like her dad when he was angry which she found negative. I found that my husband had the same negative as those I found in my dad, for example, even as an adult my dad always belittled me and made me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about which ann. My husband was exactly the same. Many of my friends have told me the same about their spouses, that it is the negative qualities that we end up marrying.

A great book to understand this is by ? Hendrix, who says women (and men) draw spouses to them with the negative qualities as their dad (or mom) in order to 'resolve' these issues which troubled us. Very good book.

Depends... some women never know their dad so it is hard to say, others will go to an extreme opposite of the dad - I prefer to think that the qualities are what the other person brings out in you - they may be like your dad, they may not.

Yes, despite some womens intent not to, they end up marrying someone much like their father. This is because they are most comfortable around people who are similar to their family dynamics, and people that are different (maybe healthier) are uncomfortable to be around.

Those who have had responsible, fun dads in their lives, sometimes tend to look for those qualities in a husband as well. Nothing wrong with that - better than someone who had a deadbeat, abusive dad winding up with a husband like that.

unfortunatly this is how the saying goes. if you knew my dad you would of stayed well clear of all men who acted the same as him..so no i didnt marry a man like my dad..but my sister did. a man who was the same age as her. and he beat and abused her every day. for 9 years until he nearly killed her. and this is how my dad was with my mum..so yes its possible and has happened in many cases.
