If the US Government TOLD the US people to turn over arms and disarm ourselves there would be wide spread rebellion and would refuse it, not everyone but a lot of people, so why should we expect any other nation of people to disarm?

We are not trying to disarm the people of another country. We are trying only to remove WMDs from countries that promise either to spread them (North Korea) or to destroy other nations (Iran promises to destroy Israel).

We expect them to give up these weapons because we can usually force them to either militarily, diplomatically, economically or a combination thereof.

A vast number of Americans recognize that the right to keep and bear arms is vital to maintain our freedom and democracy, and to keep out dictators, tyrants, and anarchists. We are apalled that the good people of England, Canada, Australia and other countries have allowed their unalienable rights to be violated and their firearms confiscated. We have seen it happen in New Orleans under Mayor Ray Nagin, who right now stands in violation of a federal court order to return illegally confiscated firearms, seized a year ago, to their law-abiding owners.

You shouldn't. You answered your own question but unfortunately your current leadership does and that is where the problem lies. Most citizens of any country in the world feel the same way that Americans would. Is this really a surprise to you?

In the US if a person cannot properly use a firearm they are no longer allowed to have a firearm. If someone kills another person the killer will lose their freedom. That is the norm in the US.
If you have another country that cannot be responsible with their weaponry they should not be allowed to have it.
I believe that a people who have a passion to kill billions of people should not be allowed to have the capacity to carry it out. I think that people who have a passion to safeguard billions of people should have the responsibility to safeguard the capacity to kill billions of people.
A mass murder should not be given weapons. The police should be given weapons.
