Why do girls and women have to take about 45 minutes to put on clothes, straighten their hair, put on makeup, and things like that. Guys only take like 10-15 minutes.

Women see make-up very differently than men do. They find that it fulfills a need. They have a "need" to highlight their eyes or smooth out their complexion.
But you're right. If it becomes excessive then they're in too deep and probably have insecurity issues or low self esteem. It should be minimal and be a subtle enhancement to their face. The natural look is best.

It has to do with feeling secure, comfortable and confident. A lot of women won't go out of the house without some sort of makeup on because they feel they aren't beautiful without it! If makeup was never invented this wouldn't be an issue but the fact of the matter is makeup is everywhere we go! Women have grown accustom to using it whether it be in small or large amounts it's just something we do...a good/bad habit that can't be broken it seems. There are different reasons we love wearing it, whether it's to hide imperfections or to enhance our special features that we want people to notice! The same can be said about our hair! It takes a while to do our hair because we want it to look as polished as our newly made up faces look. It wouldn't look right if we had a beautiful face and frumpy hair and clothes! Whatever the reason is it won't change and the lengthily process of making our hair, faces and body's look great will never go away. As for the guys not taking as long I suppose it can be attributed to the fact that they usually have short hair, have limited choices on different styles of clothing to choose from and they don't wear make up!

first of all don't put ALL women in the 45 min. category! :)
I wear makeup but I usually only take about 10 min. putting it on. Why do we wear makeup? Oh, I would like to rant that it was "forced upon us by telivision magazines and hollywood, which created unrealistic expectations on women everywhere" ect. ect. However if I'm being fully honest, I like makeup. Yeah I really do. I sometimes feel bad for guys (especially teenagers) who don't have a little extra help with those pimples and blemishes. That must really suck.

Some people care about how they look and what others think of themselves, some don't.
Since (most) women have more hair, it gets messy when we wake up so it'll take longer to comb it.
But just so ya know... not every woman wears makeup!

Not Me! It onlt takes me 10-15 minutes in the morning cuz I get up at 7 and my bus comes at 7:15. I am 14.

its takes me 20-30 min in the shower (including shaving)
about 3min to pick out and put on my clothes
30min to straighten my hair (if i dont itll get frizzy and it takes so long cuz i got a lot of hair)
and about 3-5 minutes to accesorize and put on deoderant
and i never wear makeup (with the exception of lip gloss)

not all woman, i only take about 10 to fifteen minutes to trhow on my clothes brush my teeth and my hair and wash my face, i guess that woman feel that they have to get all pretty for there day. but i don't, some guys love girls in makeup and that is why they do it, but i couldnt care less. clothes:which everyones are clean, or avalible on the floor.

So that we live up to men's expectations, since all women have to be flawless in this day and age to be beautiful to them, if we don't do that we look like slobs, so don't complain! It takes me a half hour to get ready in the morning, that's shower, brushing my teeth, make-up hair and clothes, and if a guy doesn't like it, then screw off, this is me! LOL
