It's a matter of embarrassment, because for one thing, there is no partner. The whole thing in life regarding reproducing and carrying on the family is sex between two adults, not one. To admit to being without a partner could be an embarrassment to some. Most men will not discuss masturbation. I won't. It's private and sometimes one finds it necessary to take care of so things don't explode. Not by choice, but by necessity.
Experimentation is another form of privacy. If it's private, why air it like laundry? It's no one's business. We all strive to become the best we can be, and practice makes perfect. Trial and error will always improve on one's life and performance. Men don't want to hear that they satisfied their partner when they know they didn't. Who wants to hear a woman lie to them? One certainly cannot build trust in that relationship. The trick is to find a willing participant who''s willing to learn your body. And willing to prove it. If women have to please themselves once they are already adults, perhaps they need to locate that male in their lives who can figure out what to do? Maybe then, we can be the tools used. Right?

Most woman have been taught from a young age that touching ourselves isn't lady like. I know that times have changed but some woman and men for that matter don't talk about doing it cuz they have been taught not to do it at all. I say, what better way to figure out what you like then to explore it yourself. I dont think you can show/tell someone what you like if you haven't done it and found out yourself.

It was decided western women should have a manipulating role in mens lives, making us make the world go round. Part of that was harnassing sexual drive, partly by guilt, and (a lot of) men were made to feel alone sexually.
Women were seduced by this and carry it on, even though technology and consumerism allow women to be feasted on by the modern world.
Yes, it is your choice and you could make the world a better place, though most would rather pratt along with it.

Ah - the old female trick of stating 'I am better than other women (the competition).. ' - I do this - most other women don't therefore aren't a catch and clever?

Good question - lol - now that you have asserted how amazing and open you are in the (oh quel surprise) male arena that likes women to be overtly sexual - yawn lets move on.

Many women are very shy about something so personal or even ashamed about it. Its also not as frequently done as guys. I know women that don't do it all, some that do it every so often etc. I also know men that would jerk off 18 times a day (literally) if they had the freedom and time to.

I think many women are raised to think that they shouldn't enjoy sexual pleasure. Not even 100 years ago women were taught that if they enjoyed sex they were not better than prositutes and that sex was for procreation. Even with the sexual revolution, this attitude has not completely gone away but it's gotten a lot easier for women to express what they want and how if they don't get it, they can give it to themselves.

wow, what a question/statement!!!! good for you

being a guy i dont know how you feel afterwards, but i guess you might feel a bit guilty? maybe not, its probably just to do with intimacy, which relates to vulnerability so you dont want to get hurt by the person/people you tell, maybe a little bit of embarrassment as well (which you seem to suffer from, not that that is a bad thing)

Some women don't admit to it because they're shameful. It's truly sad.

I admit it. My husband appreciates my honesty. He does his best to please me, and wants to know if there is something he's not doing right or if he should do something differently. Then there's that once in a great while when I'm all I need.
