Start with a free site (such as Yahoo's geocities.com) where you get a web site builder program to help you. As you become familiar, you will want to get a book or two on HTML to learn how to do fancier things. From there work your way up to Dreamweaver or one of the other top of the line web site creating programs.

First you get a hosting company. This is the Web Server where the files which create your site will sit.

Then using either Frontpage or some good scripting, you create the pages.

Upload all the files to the Host and then wait for the Hits.

You can download an html editor like Dreamweaver for free at nvu.com . Then play with putting things in design mode then look at the code. You will probably want to start with a table to center things. http://www.w3.org/ has great explanations and tutorials on getting started to advanced techniques. Frontpage sucks, it adds tons of unneeded code and isn't very respected in the field. It is super easy to use but not worh the added junk.

If you are going to begin a industry, do NOT use loose templates except you desire what you are promoting to seem handiest 3rd-cost. My boyfriend began his possess industry and I REFUSE to permit him to make use of loose templates. Either you must study the best way to create your possess templates if you happen to desire what you are promoting' internet site to seem no less than part means first rate or pay any individual to make one for you. But do NOT use a loose template for that. Free templates are great for private web sites however now not for industry web sites.
