I've always had good luck with the JcPenney in the 5th Ave mall in Anchorage. If you are looking for a prom style or formal dress, that might be the place to go. If you are looking for more summery dress, there's a store in the Sears mall, Mariposa, that has a lot of more teenage and summer-type dresses. If you don't mind buying used, you can find a lot of nice clothing at the Value Village across from the Dimond mall. I once found a brand new parka there for $50!
