Whenever I have to get in shape I run in the morning, it's especially helpful in the summer.then I lift weights to get my upper body strength up. Later in the day you NEED to do sit ups or crunches to improve your stamina. Then I run at night again, maybe with leg weights to get my body used to the constant activity.

You need to do all different types of running. I used to do cross training to get ready for the track season because it works all parts of your body and builds stamina more than anything else I have tried.

try running with weights or go to the gym. the gave some good equipment to strengthen your calves and thigh muscles.
