im 21 years old and my mother still acts like im 10. She nags and nags me all the time. I have learned to just ignore what she says. You should do the same. You are an adult now. You may have to listen to your mother talk, but you dont have to do what she tells you to anymore. That will bug her more than anything.

I'm 42 and my mother still nags and criticizes. Most of the time I just let it go but when she gets on my nerves I do this:

"That's just not up for discussion Mom"

And then I refuse to discuss it. If she continues on the same subject I say "I'll talk to you later" and stop the visit, phone call, whatever.

I may not stop the nagging pattern, but it stops that one instance dead in it's tracks. With time, she might learn which subjects cut discussions short and avoid them. If not, then at least you won't have to listen to it anymore. Either way you win.

First, of all dont tell your mother you cant stand her, she is your mother have respect for her. If you two are not seeing eye to eye about things or she is nagging alot, distance yourself as much as possible. Distance sometimes brings people closer together because they have a chance to miss each other, try that maybe it will work.

why dont u get married and move out and live with ur husband instead ? but well..if at all ur bound to live with her ..then just ignore her comments . she's probably over protective or caring ..and maybe cannot see u as grown up . Just explain her nicely that u need some space ..and if she still doesnt unstand ..then just ignore ..but plzz dont retort or insult and hurt her feelings . Coz after all she;s ur mom..who gave u life n u owe it to her dear . U will understand it btter when probably ur in her shoes after some years . gud luck

Please just bare with her. She is the only mother you have. Have you tried talking to her? If not, try to go to my friend which is GOD. All/ some mothers nag. She cares about you. I know.... My mother use to make me so upset. I just would listen and sometimes talk under my breath. If it wasn't for her you wouldn't be here. Just wait you two will be the best of friends. I will pray for you.

tell your mom that if she has nothing positive to say to you then u don't want to hear it. period. if she continues to nag ignore her, don't respond.
She'll try to put a guilt trip on you for a while saying things like you don't love her etc. just don't take the bait. It'll change.

If you live with her, move out. Otherwise, monitor your calls and just handle her when you want to. Better yet, tell her the truth and that if she wants to maintain a relationship with you she needs to back off and respect you.

Well put some distance between the two of you. If you still live at home. I'd suggest get your own place.

Oh hell I can't tolerate people in general half the time let alone not tolerate just one person. Tune her out and let it go in one ear and out the other.
