I'm planning to run across the country in a couple years after training. Would water companies sponsor me?

I need a way to get water constantly without carrying around a load of money on my back. If anyone knows anything about sponsoring, please help me out! thank you

I would doubt a water company would sponsor you to the length of providing a way to hydrate you as you go, that would involve man-hours and considerable expense. I would also doubt you could get them to give you some sort of letter of credit that you could use at participating stores; the specific company's availability nationwide is doubtful and problematic for you as you'd have to route near outlets that carry the brand.

You can seek sponsorship, and they may even provide water, but I'd think the transport of it will be your headache. If you have a support team, then no problem. From the different fundraisers I've been a part of, many companies will donate products, but it's much harder to get money or time.

Keep in mind that Highway rest areas should have water fountains for your use, including out West; if you insist on having bottled water etc, then just bring a credit card and purchase water at convenience stores or fast food outlets that accept plastic.

The best thing though would be to contact others who have done the run, find out their ideas. I found a link to some who've done it, with names and hometowns, you might be able to track down some phone numbers e-mail addy's etc. Also a list of people currently doing it, with their blog sites.

Hell ya they would sponsor you! If your running accros the country i bet you that all you would have to do is ask and they would LOVE to sponsor you because you would be on the news everynight and the guy would be telling everone where you were, then if there was a picture of you you would probably have some running gear with the companies name on it, and everoyne would want to drink that water! it would so work!!!

OH yeah the would sponsor you. just write the water companies or call them. they wouold prob make you wear some of ther clothing to do so but it would save you money

of course they would sponsor you! thats a crazy goal and they would get a lot of free publicity because you would probably be interviewed and stuff on tv. start asking like propel...im sure they would.
