NEVER tell her to change clothing. That would probably just spur her to do it even more. (the whole, "I wanna be different and go against society' thing) Just let it lay and don't act like you can't stand it. A lot of people I knew went though the goth phase, and got bored after less than a year (I know it sounds long, but it isn't really) So just ignore it and treat her the same as always. But do NOT say negative things about her dress, I repeat do NOT!

Stop trying so hard.
Sometimes it is true, the more you complain the more they hang on.
Drop the subject, let it run it's course and if it gets to piercing scream!!!
But when it is just clothes, let it be.
If you think it will lead to permanent physical change, try talking her into a job interveiw where she can SEE with her own two little eyes, people are judging her by her clothes and even if it isn't fair, it is the way of the world.

The more you pressure someone to be "normal" the more different they are going to be. The best way is to just ignore it and it will probably change as she changes. I went through a goth phase, my family always accepted me for who I am, and now I'm an attorney with great self-esteem. (And there is also Nothing wrong with bisexuality in males or females, I hope you weren't insinuating that was deviant)

It will come a time when she will realize for her own that it is time to grow-up. It is a crises that she is going through, try to explain her the advantages of not wearing Gothic clothes. You can have your own style without being mocked.

The worst thing you can do is to criticize someone else on how they choose to dress or live in general. Don't you realize that the more you rag on someone the worst it will get? (It is called PASSIVE AGGRESSIVENESS).
A lot of people will do the opposite of what you want them to do just to send the message that you're not going to control them.
Chances are that this is a stage, and a lot of young people of her generation dress accordingly. She'll grow out of it in her own due time in her own due way.
Meanwhile, mind your own business.

Alot of teenagers like the shock of being goth. Don't worry she will grow out of it just like the ones that came before. The hippies, the beatniks, the disco bunnies lol it will fade in time.

Don't bug her about it, hopefully it's just a phase. A lot of goth kids (and probably her BF) LOVE to be weird and offbeat and do it to annoy people, so the less attention you pay to it the less fun it will be for her.

She is going through a phase.
Don't bug her about it. With
your love and support she soon
be her old self. Relax it won't
be for ever. Leave it alone for
now. Leave her notes that talk
about how wonderful she is
is good start.

It's a phase. She'll grow out of it eventually. Don't try to force her to do anything, that'll just make her resist more.

It's a phase that she will eventuallly grow out of. talking to her will help her understand where you're coming from but you should not force her to do something that she does not want to do. it will only cause her to give you attitude.
