There was an old farmer who had worked his crops for many years. One day his horse ran away. On hearing the news, his neighbours came to visit him.
"Oh, such bad luck," they said, full of sympathy.
"How do you know it is bad luck?" the farmer said.
Next morning the horse returned, bringing with it three wild mares.
"How wonderful," the neighbours exclaimed.
"How do you know?" replied the old man.
Next day his son tried to ride one of the untamed horses, was thrown off, and broke his leg. The neighbours again came to offer their sympathy on his misfortune.
"How bad," they said.
"Maybe," answered the farmer.
The day after, military officials came to the village to draft young men into the army, which was bad, and which few survived. Seeing that the son's leg was broken, they passed him by. The neighbours congratulated the farmer on how well things had turned out.
"Maybe," said the farmer

Good luck and bad luck operate on an equal balance. There are people who have good luck, but don't realize it because "it doesn't
happen to people like us". I was born with spina bifida, when I was 11 months old I got polio. At two years of age I fell into a fire and went up in flames. I have been involved in four plane crashes.
Been mauled by a lion, broke my back on a motorbike accident,
have Osgood Schlatters disease, and have had several large heart attacks. And I still think I'm lucky. I have a good and wonderful life and hope to be around for some time to come.

I have noticed that people who seem to have the worst luck are more uneducated, don't plan properly, don't take care of things the way they ought to, let certain situations drag on too long that they ought not too, etc. And I have noticed that people who have better luck more often are more attentive to what goes on around them, they keep informed, they take opportunities to learn, they think as opposed to not thinking, etc. In short, I think luck has a lot to do with how well prepared you are for life. Good luck!

I know what you're talking about. Some of the best people have the worst luck - while some of the worst people get away with all kinds of things - and aren't caught.
My theory on this is that it's all in the plan - people are being tested on their faith, stengths, and weaknesses. It's really sorry when great people are struck down at early ages - and the bad ones live on forever, and with little hardship.

I think its the person clumsy people seem to have the worst luck.
Unperceptive people also have bad luck.
Vigilant people have good luck but they are paying attention to their environment.

You make your own luck. Feeling negative draws more bad 'luck' your way. A victim syndrome..

It's the way they look at their life. Sometimes we have a run of unfortunate things that happen to us, I say it's just the timing that's out sometimes. Is your glass half empty or half full? Concentrate on the positives and don't give the negatives the fuel they love to feed on.

As a poker player I can assure you that this is a misconception.
The truth is that everyone has the exact same luck.
