I find this hard and am torn.. Socrates, Newton, Darwin, Marx, Adam Smith, Ghandi, Mandela.. there are many influencial figures but to quantify who has contributed most is almost impossible and boils down to opinion at the end of the day..

At a push I would say Darwin - for being the first to explain via Origin of Species how we came to be here.

JESUS.

He is not a religious figure, people make religous figures that are supposed to be a representation of JESUS (IDOLS). People become religious in their behaviour and worship and pray blindly over and over again to an object or image without relationship or knowledge of what they worship. If Jesus rebuked the pharisees a Jewish Sect and the second commandment forbids the worship of any image or object representing anything in the Heavens, land or Sea, and the first commandment is "You shall Love the Lord your God". Then this does not make Jesus religous but the people. Catholics pray to Jesus, Mary and Joseph, Peter, Simon Paul etc. Just to point out that it is not just one religous organisation but many that have lost the focus and do not fully understand the Bible in it's proper context. Revelations is dealing with CHURCHES first as much as sinners.

Jesus is the SON of GOD and was willing to come to earth from heaven so that we might be saved from our SIN.

Crucifiction is extreme and he was willing to go to the extreme to demonstrate his love for us. Yet we treat this lightly and the more sinful and depraved this world becomes, and God will not refuse you the freedom to choose. An answer to why God lets man continue to destroy man, for a time till JESUS returns.

If you choose to systemically poison yourself then no one else can be blamed for your decision, even if they did encourage you or introduce you to it. Finite it is selfish self gratification, and does affect others and does cost and is hard to stop. No one sees the end result only the begining.

Hands down whether you agree there is a God or Not, JESUS has impacted this world more than anyone else.

If you recognise your a sinner, believe and understand it in your heart and want to repent (Change from it and not return ever) and ask God for forgiveness, believing that he sent his SON Jesus Christ to save us. The price being the blood on the cross shed for you and I, then you will be saved.
