I saw it on the news today that the President is meeting American idols-top 10 contestants. He should spend his time trying to stop the war in middle east then paying attention to american idols...its so lame

I can only guess that you don't understand the role of President. Moreover, I don't think you have the slightest knowledge of what the President has to do nor the briefings he gets each day. When you see the President out and about the country, he's trying to make contact with the every day people, to see and be seen. I do believe you wouldn't be up to that task for just one single day. Take a look at any past president as they took office. Then take a look at that same person as they left office. There's quite a difference even when "nothing" has happened.

Its all calculated propaganda. To get our minds away from the fact that Condie failed... well didnt even try!... in her shuttle diplomacy efforts, they plan that lame American Idol photo opportunity and press releases to cover Friday news. Maybe if no negative news stories get wide coverage today, no congressman will be busting their a**es to Meet the Press on Sunday. Instead of round the clock images and coverage of the hotilities in the mideast, all the nightly news shows will have footage and happy soundbites from american idol meet.
The other thing i think is how far will our politician president go to "align" himself with an "idol" to rub off of some of their popularity with the people. How weird is that?

well considering he'll probably only spend an hour with the idols and he's spent thousands of hours considering the middle east, i don't think he is paying more attention to the idols.
