How will it be remembered in 20 years after it self-destructs and the Democrats are in full power? Will it be seen as the racist, corrupt, immoral party that prevailed in the darkest years of the USA?

We know the US will eventually be 80% liberal so it only makes sense that the GOP will cease to exist as its pseudo-values will no longer have an impact.

It will be remembered as the party that gave the country its worst president in history in GWBush or Dubya the Fool. It will be remembered as the party that gave hope to the mentally challenged by showing them that they did not have to give up hope and that they too could be elected president just like Dubya. It will be remembered as the party that sold its soul to the Godless Christian right and stole the presidency in 2000 from the rightful winner, Al Gore. And it will be remembered as the party that all but brought the nation to the brink of bankruptcy by a self-serving, idiotic, moron of a president who started a war for no reason other than to remove a leader he didn't like and that that war resulted in thousands of deaths.

You see 80% Liberal I see 80% moderate as Americans open their eyes to the corruption in DC. I'm already closer as the polls show massive distrust for Democrats in the SAME numbers as those of president Bush.

The corruption within the DNC will be the end of that party too and will be remember in the same light as the self destructed GOP.

What do you think the % of true Liberals are now? Are they even represented by a party?
If you believe the Liberal branch of the GOP(neocons) suck so much why would you accept them? Isn't it odd that the one party (the GOP) moves towards the middle and then the other (DNC) in turn moves further to the left?

"In twenty years from now, how will the GOP Party be remembered?"

Posthumously, I hope. They'll go the way of the Whigs.

George Bush has been doing nothing but buying lifeboats for the Titanic for almost six years now. That and buying caviar with poor working folks' peanut butter and bread money.

The Titanic's pointing straight up now, and all but the nose has slid under the dark, frigid April waves. And all the republicans aboard are still in their swim trunks saying things like, "Nice weather."
"Yep, never been better."
"At least we've got that blue dress behind us now."
"Yes, and that iceburg was nothing but the damned liberal media. It surely doesn't have anything to do with our captain's aimless driving. Who wouldn't go full speed ahead in a dead fog in an iceburg zone in the middle of the night? Especially when he's been doing such a wonderful job of it for sixty years now."
"Yep. Thank God Kerry didn't hit that iceburg. Then we'd really be screwed."
,,,,and the band played on.

No, I'm not a democrat, either. I vote for a party that puts the people back in power again. They are out there, you know. What we have now is a choice between cancer and Alzheimers. Which is which? Your guess is as good as mine. Tweedledum and Tweedledummer is better. At least you know which side of the fence Georgie is on there.

Don't waste your vote on Good Cop Bad Cop. Vote for your own family, not the Caviar/War set.

Unfortunately Bill Clinton will be remembered more for his affairs in the whitehouse than the GOP will be for doing absolutely nothing for this country other than making people think the US is full of right-wing christian racists. Pretty much they won't be remembered. But I'm sure all those fun loving anti-gay, anti-minority, pro-ann coulter sob's will think of this time as the golden years when oppression reigned and heads rolled for not fitting in with the "majority" Personally, I'll remember the GOP as the biggest disgrace to America since the clowns that got us into Vietnam

I wouldnt be talking the democrats have no agenda and america wont become 80% liberal with the south and the western and mid western states. And the republican party is not rascist, corrupt, or immoral because the republican party was started right before the civil war to stop the expansion of slavery and the democrats have more corruption than republican with bill clinton having sex in the white house with monica lewinski ted kennedy driving drunk twice and killed a passenger driving with him who he was having an affair with and jfk having an affair while in office.

Hopefully rememberd as the stepping stone to realise both parties are just as hollow and corrupt. Each side has its moderates and fine public servants but sadly that number I can count on one hand.

Not to mention democracy in this country made it into a state rather then a free republic. Ever since every war and every single millitary action has been for the hold of authority over its people and the world.

I think that the people will have had enough of the hate from the neolibs and will flock to the GOP. I believe it is the Democrats who are self-destructing. Many of THEM don't even like some of the things going on there.

With luck, the will be remembered as having gone through a rough patch before getting back to their core platform.

Or with a miracle, they (and every other political party) will have been dissolved, and every candidate will be forced to run as an independent and stand on their own merits.
