The Mary Tyler Moore Show. I like the characters and how they were all like family even though most weren't. I miss shows like that. Shows now don't seem to be very realistic. I am only 26 but I grew up watching older shows and the new stuff doesn't even compare.

If you will allow me to add one.....i nominate Barney Miller. I had the great fortune to watch it again a few years back.....and it was every bit as funny as i remembered it back in the 1970's/early 1980's. Seriously, this is the most consistently funny show i have ever watched.....and it kept getting better throughout its 7 year run. And when they decided they had said all they could say, they ended it in style and dignity. This is what television *can* be.....but oh so rarely ever is. If you do not know the show, i hope you give it a watch if it's ever on in your area. It's worth it, please believe me.

Of all these you mention (and I loved them all) I guess MASH followed closely by WKRP in Cincinnati. The idea of a comedy associated with war (KoreanWar) was very unique. As for WKRP, who knew a sitcom about a radio station could be so hilarious.

M*A*S*H, definitely... that's the only sitcom (if you want to lump it into that category) I've ever felt emotional about. I actually CARED about the characters instead of wanting to hit them with a truck, like I want to do with most sitcom characters now...

I'd have to say M*A*S*H because that was one of the shows my dad and I used to watch together all the time.
