You are in danger of getting burnt or not even realizing that it came in you vehicle window and it starts a fire. I have myself been burnt sitting in the back seat when the car beside us threw their butt out and the wind hit it just right to fly through my window and hit me right in the face

Unless you have the window down and it goes in the window, I would say no danger. Just driving over it won't put you in harms way. It is more of a danger to the environment and a chance of causing a fire to the grass at the edge of the road than to you.

do you have a convertable? That could be a problem. I threw a cig butt out of my car ONCE. I got pulled over by a state trooper, cause it hit his windshield, obviously I wasn't paying too much attention. I was ticketed $256.00 for throwing debris/littering from my car. State of NJ.

depending on the weather.
depending on the condition of your car.
depending on how far the person throws it.

Wet - Nil
Hot/Dry - Nil.

With exception of Maharet. lol (OUCH!)
ffs. AND CONVERTIBLES! :P

Just my opinion. :)

The chance of the cigarett hitting you, or entering the gas tank is logically very very minimal. Unless the person aims it @ you and yous both are going about 20K/m Side by side. Then your fine.

If you're in a convertible, it could cause seat damage.
