Depends on what it is. If it were my keys, oh yes, I would pull them out and wash my hands and disinfect my keys after wards. If it were a piece of paper or something that I didn't find important, then no, I wouldn't pull it out. But, I would make sure to let someone know that there is something in the toilet and that they need to fix it. No, I wouldn't say that it was me, unless it had my name on it, I would just tell them that I found it like that. That is honest, just not 100% honest.

Actually, I was thinking about this the other day. I remember when I was in the first grade, my mom and I had matching rings, and I thought it was the coolest thing! We were eating at Ruby Tuesday's, and I dropped mine in the toilet. I was crying and everything! I loved that ring. A lot. Soooooo...my mother fished it out. And then she washed her hands for the next 45 minutes, seeing how I'd already gone to the bathroom when she stuck her hand in! Eeeeeewwwww!!!!

I wouldn't, but I had a college beer buddy that threw up into a public toilet bowl. His dentures fell in, and he pulled it out, rinsed it out and popped it right back into his mouth.

If it was of value to me,I would remove it,scrub my hands and the object with roughly a gallon of disinfectant ,and continue my day.
However, the bathroom at the Elkins Public Library, wouldn't even consider it!!!

If it was something valuable or irreplaceable yes, but I would need to pour disinfectant all over that hand for weeks before I would feel okay about it!

it depends on what it is. and toilets are cleaner than your kitchen counter or your desk. so it must not be that horrible. btw, a girl did a science project to see if fast food resteraunts toilet water was dirtier that the water it was serving to customers. the toilet water was cleaner. so its not that bad. plus your hands can be washed.

Depends on what it was. If it was of good value, I would pull it out. Many public restrooms have sinks that have good soap available.

If it very expensive, sentimental or very hard to replace I would take the dive. Afterword I would scrub like a surgeon and buy some of the anti-germ hand gel.
