Intelligent design is the theory that life as we know it, particularly human life and the functioning of the body, is far too complicated to have developed randomly. Therefore, intelligent design proposes that there must be a higher power to do it. It is in contrast with Darwinism, which promotes the random mutation and evolution theory.

Hmmm, my thoughts are that intelligent design is when a design exceeds it's primary goals.

Is this car driveable? Yes, but not only that it's compfortable and is great on gas. Did this billboard promote the new show? Yes, but it also made people laugh and in turn made people think that this channel provide laughter. Were you able to mail this postcard? Yes, but aslo gave a feeling of travel by having more than just a picture of the location it was sent from. Yadda yadda yadda.

Good design is all around us, but intelligent design exceeds even the designers expectations for subject's communication and experience.

(this answer is 'decent' design, it has an intro, and detailed body of examples, and a short wrap up to leave you with one thought. Now if I have colored text and bold type here and there and maybe an animated elephant juggling clowns... ???)

it is the theory that the world was created by a higher power. it's not really provable, though.
