My questions are a little random, however, why are "points" so wonderful to so many geek type nerds?

People who are answering your questions are real people with feelings, geeks or not. Helping people answering questions and yes sometimes people get hooked on collecting points to climb the levels. I mean you are on this too, so its not cos you are a geek is it??.

i really wouldn't know. i don't see the point of them either. i guess yahoo just wanted to make yahoo answers a bit more interesting for geek type nerds.

I don't think it's the "geeks", more like the unintelligent (if 'geek' means intelligent), I don't think a savvy person would answer a question with just, "I don't know, but thanks for the 2 points". Just my opinion.
