Just the other day, I remembered part of a vacation that I took eighteen years ago when I was eighteen. Boy, that made me feel old.

As I'm 36, my triggers for age-awareness definitely comes when I recall shows from the 1970's. I still remember when one actually had to get out of the seat and turn an honest-to-God dial on the television set to select from just the three major networks and maybe PBS. As the Bunkers sang, "Those were the days." :-)

It was something which was very clear to me recently when I realised the people I was training weren't even born when joined the company. I had 4 jobs two homes and got married by then.

But, although I feel old, I don't envy them, and wouldn't want to be them, oh apart from their ability to bend, kneel, run and drink and stay up late or to not give a fig about responsibility LOL!!!

Not really. I feel old when I meet people that didn't know what it was like not to have cable TV or cellular phones, don't know what Atari is, don't remember life before MTV or the internet, and think that Michael Keaton was the original Batman.

Damn. I AM old.

Yes. I also feel old when I mention something like the movie "Airplane" and people look at me as if I have 3 heads. It's hard for me to remember that many people who are in college now weren't even born when "Star Wars" came out etc. It really freaks me out.

yes. I feel old all the time for lots of reasons. You know, some people say that you are old when police men start to look young. Well, I know several policemen who ARE younger than me so I must be old!

Sometimes - although I think anything that reminds ya of the passage of time does it..whether it is not seeing a relative for a while (they were a baby last time) then seeing them taller than you etc Or looking at a photo when you looked really young.. all of it starts that ominous twinge..

Yeah!! I was recently thinking that...I also feel old when shows like Fresh Prince and Roseanne are on channels like TV Land or on Nick at Nite...I remember when all of that programming was I Love Lucy and stuff like that!

In my mind I feel very-very old, because of all the experience I've got already. (Mainly negative, of course.)
And I also have grey hairs, but I've got them since I was 13.
Now I'm 19.
On the other hand in some formal situations I feel very-very young and awkward... :)

Yeah. i also feel old when i find out how old my younger cousins are. its like, "wait a minute, u were only a few months old yesterday! How can u be 5?" i kno that i'm young, but it's those little reminders that actually make u think about stuff like that.
