Please ignore the previous post it is totally incorrect. Your POP3 server which responds on port 110 is for incoming email so that server would be correct.

Now if you cannot send email there are many things that can affect this and I will try my best to explain them in detail.

1) your SMTP server in your email client is incorrect

2)You are trying to send out email using a mail server that does not belong to your ISP. Many ISP's block SMTP traffic outbound unless it is coming from one of their IP's. This is due to the increasing spam.

3)You have a firewall or antivirus program that is blocking port 25 traffic.

This sounds like you are having some issues with either the outgoing mail server (smtp) provided by your ISP (service provider) or you are having some firewall isses. If using XP, you can disable the firewall to test by going to Start --> Control Panel --> Windows Firewall and disabling this (just long enough to test). Or, if you are using McAffee or Norton internet security, you might want to try and disabe this. My bet is on the outgoing mail server, either the info was entered in incorrectly, or your ISP is having issues.

Hope this helps...

Check the settings for your pop3 server. That is what sends the email. The SMTP is what receives the mail. If only receiving is working, then it is probably the information for the pop3 server.

Check your SMTP address, this is the address to send mail,
the POP3 is used to receive mail

Right click on the icon, select properties, then servers.
make sure you have the correct server name.
Also you will neet to check your password and login ID.
If not sure, check with your ISP (Internet Service Provider)
