George Chapman (AKA Severin Klosowski).
He was the only one of the credible suspects who was a *proven* serial murderer (albeit a poisoner).
The enclosed links will prove interesting - if disturbing - reading.

There is a theory that he may have been a transatlantic resident of London and Wilmington, NC. There were several of the same style murders of prostitues at the same time in the city of Wilmington, and the theory is that they were comitted by the same man. A businessman who was in the habit of cheating and whose wife cheated in return. He had children so he retaliated by dismembering prostitutes in the port city of Wilmington, hacking off noses, removing organs, etc. I forget the name of the man. But it was during the Haunted Pub Crawl that I found all this out and it was on the first stop so who could expect me to remember everything!? Sorry!
I thought it was very interesting as a theory though!

I don't think we'll ever really know who he is but I did read Patricia Cornwell's book and her "proof" (which is mostly a feeling - and some faulty DNA along with the idea that he never painted anything he didn't see) which has me most convinced is that similiar murders took place when Sickart was in those places - northern England, France. Still, we'll never know for sure and we'll also never know if the true killer only wanted us to think it was Sickart.

Cornwell's book was a joke and there's not much chance that Sickert was the Ripper.
Go to casebook.org and check out the suspects and the message board for more info.

JACK THE RIPPER
Oh you look so tired
mouth slack and wide
ill housed and ill advised
your face is as mean
as your life has been
Crash into my arms
I want you
you don't agree
but you don't refuse
I know you
And I know a place
where no one is likely to pass
you don't care if it's late
and you don't care if you're lost
And oh you look so tired
but tonight you presume too much
too much, too much
and if it's the last thing I ever do
I'm going to get you
Crash into my arms
I want you
you don't agree
but you don't refuse
I know you
Crash into my arms
I want you
you don't agree
but you don't refuse
I know you

Patrica Cornwell wrote an interesting book on Jack the Ripper. It has lots of information as to why it should be ..... I won't destroy the book for anyone by telling you how she has come to this conclusion but her work with Scotland yard is quite impressive. Her ideas/suggestions as to who Jack may have been is well researched and makes sense when read. I hope you have had the pleasure of reading this book. I have attached her link.

I cant remember where I saw it, but recently the case book of the investigating detective was revealed.
In his case book he reveals that is was some Dr. that could not be prosecuted but he was sure it was him. He was picked out from an indentity parade but the witness was too scared to officially declare it.
