I always went up in the attic,it was hot as blazes but it had lots of dark corners to hide in,I would be weak,red,and sweaty but better than getting spanked while my Dad was still real pissed!

Actually hiding did not make it worse.as I said I waited for my dad to cool down,he was crazy and always drunk!

I hid in my songwriting. Do you like music? This can be a great escape. Look at Fionna Apple, she was tramatized by being raped and she dealt with it by writing songs...and is one of the best songwriters around male or female.
Anyway it is an awesome thing to start playing an instrument, even more awesome writing. It's as easy as having a guitar and a space to yourself......you could walk to the park & play to hide? Alteast the weather would be better than the addict.

I went into a cabinet. They always new I was there though because I used to play in there too. After that got old, I just ran to my bed and put the blankets over my head.

Under the pile of pillows in the TV room. They spent time looking in the garge, closets, but never thought to look there.

~one time i called my older brother a name & my dad got mad. i thought i'd be smart & hide under my mom(she was laying in the sun in a lawn chair) he still yanked me out & paddled my @ss. so much for that brilliant idea!~
