First of all, who determined that we are kinder to anI'mals? With hunting and considering pretty much every meal we eat has some form of animal in it, im not really sure if we are kinder to them. but that's why they are there. If you are talking about animals on the street of endangered species, maybe some people in the world realize that we are pretty much responsible for the devastation caused to many of these animals. Also, animals tend to appear helpless, or at least less able to take care of themselves than humans (there must be a joke there somewhere), so we formed the ASPCA and groups like that to protect them from us?
There is something seriously wrong with that statement.
Cats and dogs make us feel like we have friends, and sometimes that's true. Cats are very friendly, dogs sometimes seem to have real friendship with their "owners", and well , fish are a different subject altogether. Its not like you can play fetch with them.
I sometimes think that people are kind to animals to help themselves feel better as opposed to actually helping the critters.
just my opinion.

i don't know!! but i think it is because we know that animals can't understand us as well as people can. so, we think that if the animal does not understand us well enough, then it will hurt us..... so...we treat the animal with much respect..get it? i hope that made sense...

but before, i have had people stare at me..i don't get whether they think i'm good-looking (which a lot of people have said! :-) ) or i have something odd about my appearance..sorry for the really long answer. i should stop typing now...ok..bye! hope it helps! :-)

I disagree. Factory farmed animals are treated terribly! And as far as pets go, they sit around alone a lot, and I think we are so nice to them when we get home from school or work because of guilt.

Because animals are simply easier to deal with. They don't discuss politics and religion. They don't complain, they don't nag, and they're always happy to see you when you get home.

They need very little to make them happy, and are loyal to the end.
